The Bokashi kitchen composter is a practical and convenient way of transforming all of your kitchen waste into a nutrient rich soil conditioner. This unique composting system comprises a sealable bin. It's made from 80% recycled plastic, and uses EM (Effective Micro-Organism) Bokashi to create the ideal conditions for airtight (anaerobic) composting.

The eco-friendly kitchen composter and EM Bokashi mix (activator bran) eliminate the odours and unpleasantness associated with the breaking down of waste. You can compost almost every kitchen food waste in your Bokashi composter including fruit and vegetables, prepared foods, cooked and uncooked meats and fish, cheese, eggs, bread, coffee grinds, tea bags, wilted flowers and tissues.

Bokashi kitchen composter

Place all your kitchen waste into the airtight container and sprinkle with a handful of supplied Bokashi mix. This is a bran based material made with a culture of micro-organisms which begins to compost the waste. When full the contents of the kitchen composter can be safely transferred into a traditional compost bin or simply dug into the garden. Liquid feed can be drained off which is alive with beneficial microbes. This can be diluted as a plant feed or poured down drains to prevent algae build up and prevent odours. This process does not produce smells or attract flies so the container can be safely kept in the kitchen.

Once the first bucket is full it can be left for a further two weeks to continue the composting process. In this time the drained 'tea' can be collected from it every few days. With a second composting bucket you can continue collecting your kitchen waste until it's time to swap them over again. A simple and effective method.
