The Bokashi food waste bin allows a family quick and easy storage of all food scraps, and no more smelly, maggot-infested kerbside bins to clean out. Use the two food scrap bins in rotation. When the first bin is filled up store it for a couple of weeks to let the material inside ferment further (you can drain the 'tea' from it and dilute as a plant food or tip down the drain neat to help clean pipes and to stop drainage smells). While this is happening, you can start using the second bin. After the two weeks empty the first full bin either by digging into an existing compost heap, or dug into the garden (about a foot down). The worms love the fermented waste material, and it will then break down very quickly also helping to regenerate the soil.
